BirdDog

update:
BirdDog is a painting that started as a piece of canvas I bought back in Atlanta last year. I stapled the raw canvas to the wall, took a set of streach bars (18"x24"), and outlined four separate pieces. This is the last of the four. It started as a skull drawing that I transferred to the canvas via sharpie. A few months ago I decided to stretch it and see what I could do with it. I added a drawing of a crow before I gave it a cover of gesso. I only covered the areas in which I intended to paint on as a staging device. I've taken to doing this with my last few paintings. The crow was done with oil paints and originaly i painted the skull next to him in acrylic. After a month or so of staring at it and trying to figure why I didn't like it, I got on this dog kick. I'm starting to like it now, but think the dog may need a pair of aviator shades. I'll keep you updated.
